Welcome!

Welcome to the City of Fort Myers Downtown Utility and Streetscape Improvements Project website. Located in Lee County, at the heart of Southwest Florida, the City of Fort Myers is experiencing an exciting time of redevelopment. Proposed improvements to the downtown area include sidewalk and pedestrian amenities, landscaping, traffic signalization, lighting and utility improvements and upgrades.

Darrell the BarrelWhile this project will beautify over 50 blocks of downtown Fort Myers, more importantly, this is a utility replacement project. Existing water, sewer and storm drain systems will be replaced throughout the project area. The City's utilities staff has located water main fittings stamped with dates from the early 1900s. There is a lot of work to be done underground before the beautification elements are in place.

On this project website you will find information to keep you informed of the latest project construction. The Project Schedule provides current construction updates by phase and block. Visit our FAQ page to find answers to many questions about the construction project.
